We came here on a Friday night since their other location down the block was packed with an estimated 35 minute wait and this little take-out shop had NO wait! I wasn't sure if they had the same menu and asked the guy in the back. He was very sweet and explained how some items overlap but this store is mainly for take-out and have some unique desserts that the other Spot doesn't have (and vice versa). I saw that they had their famous Chocolate Green Tea Lava Cake and was sold. Both small tables in the front were taken and we asked if we could stand by the little counter by the back mirror. He had no problem with it and we had a great view of him making our dessert. Their forks in the front had also run out and he immediately got us some extras. Now THAT's some pretty sweet customer service!

The guys working here on Sunday night were great, friendly, and accommodating. I didn't realize there are two locations in East Village, until I realized that this was the smaller, take-out oriented place, as others have mentioned. NOTE: There are only TWO small tables, so be prepared for that!! We, luckily, were able to snag a seat by the time our Chocolate Green tea lava cake was ready. The cake itself was very moist, chocolately, and delicious. A spoonful of green tea ice cream eaten with each bite was refreshing, and an overall well-rounded dessert. Great job, guys! I wish I could've tried more of the menu, but at $9 a cake, I'll have to wait until my next visit!

There dessert bar was too long of a wait for my hangry friends so we decided to have dessert here. I ordered the matcha cheescake and the matcha tiramusi. I enjoyed the tiramusi more than the cheesecake but both desserts were not something I wanted to finish. It was quite upsetting since they had so many Asian desserts I wanted to try. The cheesecake was baked too long and the tiramusi was just green.

Opened a few days ago they say. Promotion on asian inspired flavors of macarons they say. I got a box of 6. They cost what an average macaron costs in the city...about 2.50 a piece right now at the beginning of 2015. They also have my favorite flavor, matcha green tea in about anything possible from cupcake-aroons which are cupcakes with a macaron on top to rice Krispy treats in taro and green tea. They have green tea cream puffs (also in other flavors I'm less interested in). The space itself is a tiny little shop so it's meant for grab and go but there are a few seats here and there.

I popped in with a yearning for something cakey and chocolatey. I think I made the wrong choice. How could Spot go wrong? Their cakes are so pretty. Alas, the pistachio crumbs on this chocolate mousse cake were overwhelmed by the chocolate flavor; I'm used to the creamy soft mousse of Bruno's (RIP). The mousse in Spot Shoppe's Chocolate Forest ($8) was shockingly tougher- and don't expect any cake in this baby. There's melted chocolate in the middle and more dense mousse. Next time I'll by-pass Spot and satiate my confection craving at Chikalicious dessert bar, where I've had more luck with my sweets gambling.

I usually go to Spot Dessert bar for a sit down but since it was super packed we decided to take the alternative which is the take out version. The place does have small tables to eat in but its a small store so to really dine in is not a recommendation. The pastries are fantastic but unlike Spot Dessert bar, their menu is different. People do get those two confused. They have varieties of desserts such as macaroon cupcakes of different flavors, tiramisu, smalls tarts, ice cream, crepes, green tea rice krispies, coffee's, Lattes and Asian character cake desserts. They have a green tea and red bean mini cake that looks like Keropi the frog. He was good for all you matcha lovers. He's a very Asian inspired fusion flavored cake. They also have a hazelnut mini cake that looks like a bear and my dessert which was a cookies and cream flavored panda. The cakes weren't that sweet and it kinda felt like you were biting into a flavored marshmallow with cake and filling. I liked it. I'ts cuteness add to the yum factor. I definitely want to come back to try their cupcaroons (cupcake macaroons), Asian inspired macaroons( such as thai ice tea flavored, taro, green tea and red bean), rice krispie treats and green tea crepe. Great spot!

I understand that this is more of a take out place and they have limited seating. People who haven't gotten their food yet should not be allowed to sit at the table. It doesn't make sense that people who are WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD are sitting while I am trying to eat while standing with my food. In the time that they were taking up the room at the table I could have finished eating. RIDICULOUS. This review has nothing to do with the employees - they were extremely friendly and nice! The customers ruined the experience.

This place is amazing! It's been awhile since I came here to comment on the actual dishes I just know I had a great experience. My best friend and I may have made a name for ourselves as the two of us ordered their 3 tapas special...may have been a bit much for 2 small girls...(everyone was looking at us) but it's such a good deal! Friendly service as well. Hoping to be back to try other seasonal tapas soon :)

Why would you go to this location instead of the flagship? Because there is no wait and there are options here you won't see at the flagship such as crepes, waffles, cupcakes and cookies. My recommendation: - The mousse cake, the ones with the cute faces. In particular the matcha filled with red bean(frog) and coffee(bear) flavored. You won't regret it. Note: No bubble tea at this location. :(

I dont really get the hype of this place. I got the golden toast. it wasn't very good... it tasted like bread with some honey on it and bad quality ice cream on the side. maybe I just didn't order the right dessert.

Really liked their desserts! First tried to go to their dessert bar but the line was insane so we popped over here and were able to get our food really quickly. Went with a small group and ordered almost all their plates desserts because it looked like the portions were really small, but they surprised us and we're way bigger than we expected. The desserts were each so unique and interesting that I had to remind myself what it was that we ordered exactly, but they all tasted so good! I am definitely looking forward to going back for more. The only thing to take note of is that they really don't expect people to sit down as there are only two tiny tables with two stools each so only come here if you're willing to take it to go!

Two friendly guys were running this offshoot 6 doors down from Spot Dessert Bar, but their Thai Iced Tea Macaron was pretty subpar texturally. Not sure why they felt they need to expand unless they got an insane deal on rent, though it's certainly a calmer atmosphere than their other 2 locations.

Nice friendly staff. Decor is cute and the place is clean. (It better be, it brand spankin new). The macarons are AMAZING!! Especially love the salted caramel. Why does it have to be $2.50 a piece?? Why don't they have a buy _ get _ free??

This new location just opened around Christmas 2014. You can order their drinks and smoothies as well as their pastries. The menu on the Spot Dessert Shoppes features some new items such as waffles and crepes as well. You can also order ice-cream individually. If I remember well it's $2,75 per scoop. I had a chocolate matcha crepe with matcha ice cream. It was alright if you craved a spot style dessert and didn't want to go through a huge line. (Note: I sent a notification to Yelp because I first wrote this review on January 1st and this page didn't exist yet, not sure what was going on, and why Yelp didn't add the actual location I was reviewing, the shoppe vs. the dessert bar)

This place is too cute...Just look at those cute desserts!! When I saw a friend of mine posted picture of this place, I had to ask him where it was located. He told me st. marks opened up a new Spot place near the original store. Since my friend and I had dinner around there, we went here for dessert after. They have so many options, we went with the piggy and the cute rabbit? The piggy was good but the rabbit was ok...we both didn't like the coconut taste even though we knew it had coconut. lol...cant resist the cuteness. They also have tons of other items on the menu, definitely a good place to go after dinner.

GO FOR: getting your dessert fix without (or less of) the wait you'll find at the original Spot Dessert Bar a few doors down (which has tended to line out the door most times I've been). There's less of a wait as it's more of a "boutique" concept. And, the selection of desserts caters to this intent (macarons, cakes, candied fruits, gifting items) although some familiar choices from down the block (like the satisfying chocolate green tea molten lava cake) can still be ordered. There are two small tables (with about 2 chairs apiece) if that fix can't wait. Or sit on the steps outside in warmer weather I suppose. And you can forget about plates though the presentation was still nice -hmm is it still "plating" if served on paper?

I was heading toward spot dessert bar to order some desserts to go and my brother noticed this stores called Spot Dessert Shoppe. I was in shocked because I thought they opened another store. It turns out it's a little shop that sells TO GO Desserts that are from Spot Dessert Bar. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I walked in and I was super excited because I am a Spot Dessert Bar Fan. The desserts are all lined up so neat and pretty. The interior of the shop is clean and colorful with beautiful pictures of their favorite desserts of the wall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked a lot of questions because there were so many new desserts that aren't in Spot Dessert Bar. They answered all of my questions and was very understanding when I was acting very excited LOL They boxed my desserts all in little cute boxes for me. I am definitely recommending my friends to come here to try the new desserts and to all my friends and yelper friends that if you don't want wait at Spot Dessert Bar to eat in, you should go to this place Spot Dessert Shoppe yo order out. You will still get the same quality of those delicious and delightful desserts at Spot Dessert Shoppe. I still love Spot Dessert Bar and now I love Spot Dessert Shoppe too!

This place is so cute! The desserts are well thought out and are small in size so you don't stuff yourself. I like that the shop has a different selection from the bar. Sometimes the bar is packed, so it is nice to have the option of buying some desserts from the shop to take home and eat :3

One of the best baked good shops I've ever been to. I love the original Spot Tapas Desert Bar but sometimes I want something quick and this is a perfect alternative. I tried around 50% of the stuff at the shoppe so far and they're all amazing. My personal favorite is the green tea dipped strawberries. Great place to shop for gifts. A lot of their items are not overly sweet and very well balanced (which goes for the items at their sit in restaurant as well).

Wow! This place has everything from mini cookies to dessert tapas! Everything for any sweet craving you may have. The decor is cute, the staff friendly, and most importantly of all the food is DELICIOUS! The chocolate green tea lava cake was good as USUAL but I happened to find the showcase items to be on par with the beautiful presentation they put forth. I have to say i was thoroughly happy with my experience at the SPOT DESSERT SHOPPE!

I was so exited to hear that the Spot has opened another location. As soon as i heard i went to this location and saw that they added awesome new desserts as well, "Toki" being the best. I was thrilled when i heard that Spot Dessert Bar had opened up a second location in St. Marks. I decided to check out the new dessert shoppe and the staff were really friendly and informed me that they were now serving WAFFLES and CREPES! they were delicious! they also have other new items that were on display. I will definitely try them out the next time i visit the dessert shoppe. If you or your date aren't in the mood to wait the long lines at the dessert bar then the dessert shoppe is the perfect alternative because now you can get your dessert's to go.
